Remember the online spot that featured a gleeful Ronny Turiaf congratulating Kobe Bryant after the Mamba cleared an Aston Martin in the new Nike Hyperdunk? A sample Hyperdunk dedicated to the clever commercial recently emerged from the depths of sneaker obscurity. Toned in silver foil/mahogany hues, the shoe features the Aston hood ornament as a lacelock. Kobe in “pre-jump” posture is embossed on the tongue, and the progression of his leap for all of mankind is fastidiously tracked on the model’s leather insole. For now, you can expect the Nike Hyperdunk “Aston Martin” to stay locked away in the sample room.

Though Kobe Bryant’s puppet alter ego has taken over the Black Mamba’s car jumping duties, Nike has created a Hyperdunk inspired by Kobe’s original leap. Dubbed the Aston Martin, Kobe jumped over an Aston Martin in the original commercial, the Hyperdunk features several details that link back to the commercial. The Aston Martin Nike Hyperdunk colorway itself matches the Aston Martin in the commercial and the sneaker also features a silhoette of Kobe in a jumping stance embossed on the tongue, the Aston Martin hood ornament on the lacelock, and a visual timeline of Kobe’s jump illustrated on the tongue.
No word on a release but if we hear something, it will be posted.

Lebron James debuted his new Nike Zoom Soldier III (3) during the first game of the 2009 NBA Playoffs against the Detroit Pistons this past week, but this model above won’t be worn by King James anytime soon as it has been created exclusively for grade school sizes. This ZSIII features white, navy and red like its men’s sized counterpart, but remixes the color blocking so that it has more of a Team USA feel as it incorporates more red as opposed to being dominated by navy. There is no word of a release date yet, but stay posted for more news.
